30a Pontoon Rental GAS PRICES-
Each boat comes with a full tank of gas.  If gas prices go up from January 1, 2022 gas prices, there is a possibility of a fuel surcharge at the end of your rental.  
 

WEATHER POLICY 

WEATHER - 30a Pontoon Rental /SRBPR strives to give our clients the best experience possible on the water. However, the panhandle is notorious for unexpected weather and things can change quickly and dramatically. 30a Pontoon Rental /SRBPR does our absolute best to inform you of developing weather patterns. However, it's challenging because the weather channels are not always accurate. If, at the beginning of the day, we see most of your day forecasted to be inclement weather (storms with high winds, lightning, etc) we may cancel your reservation. In the event, 30a Pontoon Rental /SRBPR do cancel, the customer may then choose between a refund or a credit. If there is significant inclement weather in your area (storms with high winds, lightning etc.) that develop during your event and we call you back to the dock canceling or cutting short your outing, you will be provided a partial credit. 30a Pontoon Rental /SRBPR does not cancel or offer refunds for rain showers that develop while on the water. If you choose to go out and it rains, you have accepted that risk.  We also do not cancel for cold weather.

RENTERS INSURANCE -

There are times when the weather forecast is not accurate and winds change or rains increase unexpectedly.   In these circumstances, 30 Pontoon Rental does not refund any money.  This becomes the risk of the customer.   We encourage our renters to get RENTAL INSURANCE for these situations.

30a Pontoon Rental Questions and Answers

1. WHY RENT A PONTOON BOAT

A pontoon rental boat in the Destin / 30a area is the perfect boat for enjoying the bay, Crab Island, etc.   A pontoon rental boat gives guests more than enough room for 12 people to comfortably enjoy the water.   A typical ski boat or fishing boat only allows 6-8 people to sit comfortably, a pontoon has a more open floor plan.  A typical pontoon rental boat is a 23 foot 12 passenger boat.  Our single decker pontoon rental boats are 28 foot, 18 passenger pontoon rentals and our double decker is a 28 foot, 14 passenger pontoon rental boat.  Although we are not allowed to have more than 12 guests on a pontoon boat, this gives you way more room than an average pontoon rental boat, plus, because it's a few feet longer, it's a much smoother ride.

2. WHAT IS THERE TO DO ON THE WATER

There are tons of really fun things to do while out on the water.   

Crab Island-Crab Island is a favorite destination spot.  It's a beautiful sandbar where the water is crystal clear and only 2-4 feet deep.   It looks like the same beautiful blue water you'd experience in the Bahamas.  In season 100's of boats drop anchor and play for the day.  There are food boats that will pull up next to your boat and offer ice cream, boiled peanuts, etc.   There is also a boat that offers burgers, fries, etc but it's pretty expensive.   It's quicker to get to Crab Island by boat from the 30a area than it is by car.

 

HOW FAR IS IT BY PONTOON RENTAL BOAT TO CRAB ISLAND?

If you drove by car from anywhere on 30a (Rosemary Beach, Seaside, Grayton Beach, Seagrove, Seaside, Inlet Beach, etc) it takes about 1-1.5 hours plus 20 minutes to park, 20 minutes to unload your car and get to dock, 20 minutes for training, and 20 minutes to get to Crab Island.  With 30a Pontoon Rental you can be at the dock in 10-20 minutes from anywhere on 30a and be at Crab Island in 45 minutes by pontoon rental boat.

Other fun things while on the water...

The Destin Harbor- The Destin Harbor is also a favorite stop.   There are tons of restaurants, stores, a climbing wall, etc.   Many famous places like AJ's, Harry T's, Dewey Destin's are located in the Destin Harbor.  A cruise on a pontoon rental boat gives you an opportunity to tour all these destinations.

Holiday Isle- Holiday Isle is a community within the Destin Harbor with beautiful homes, fabulous boats, etc.  There is nothing quite like experiencing the homes on the water with a pontoon rental.

Bayou's- There are 4-5 beautiful Bayou's from our location to Crab Island. . The Bayou's are decked with some of the most beautiful homes on the panhandle.   You can drive back most of the Bayou's on a pontoon rental. 

​

Lulu's- Lulu's restaurant is owned by Jimmy Buffett's sister.  It's a fabulous tourist destination where you can enjoy indoor and outdoor dining.  It also has a fun outdoor area with a beach where kids can play.   Don't forget to stop at the outdoor bar right on the water for a drink.   Lulu's is a short pontoon rental ride about half way between 30a and Crab Island.

3. ARE WE ALLOWED TO BRING ALCOHOL ON OUR PONTOON RENTAL?

Yes, you are allowed to bring alcohol on the boat.  However, there are very strict rules for operating a water vessel under the influence.   Our policy prohibits the driver from having any alcohol.  Keep in mind, a boat operates much different than a car, and there are 100's of other boats on the water.   Plus, the current can be rough at times.  Any alcohol impaires the drivers ability to respond quickly to certain circumstances.

4. HOW OLD DO YOU HAVE TO BE TO RENT A PONTOON RENTAL BOAT?

The United States Coast Guard requires all drivers to be born on or before January of 1988 without a boating certificate.  However, anyone over 30 is allowed to drive if they a boating certificate.   Renters are able to rent between 25-30 if they hire a captain.   There are no exceptions to these rules.

5. WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM CAPACITY ON A PONTOON RENTAL BOAT?

Maximum capacity on a pontoon rental boat is 12.  However, if you hire a captain, you are allowed to have 12 plus the captain.   PLEASE NOTE:  Children of any size are included in that 12.  The United States Coast Guard counts heads.  There are no exceptions to this rule. 

 

6.  WHAT SHOULD I BRING ON OUR PONTOON RENTAL

The boat is equipped with a radio, shade, etc.   However, we strongly recommend water shoes, suntan lotion, and long sleeve moisture wicking shirts.  A long sleeve moisture wicked shirt can help with the direct sunlight.   In addition, we recommend bringing bottled water, enough food for 6 hours (including snacks, sandwiches, fruit, veggies).  If you plan to drink alcohol, we strongly recommend rotating bottled waters between each drink.   It's very easy to get dehydrated and sick while out on the water.

7. WHAT AGE IS TOO YOUNG TO BE ON A PONTOON RENTAL BOAT?

This is a great question.   We often get families of all ages (including newborn infants) on our pontoon rental boats.   There is plenty of shade on all our pontoon rental boats, but the shade is limited.   The sun still comes in from the sides and can be very strong.   In addition, the water in the middle of the bay can be rough at times.   It may be best to have children under 6 months of age do a Destin pickup instead of our 30a pontoon rental location.  It's the same boat, but the young ones won't be out in the water as long and the water won't be as rough.  A Yacht Charter is a great option if guests want a much safer atmosphere for children.

8. ARE THERE ANY TOYS ON THE PONTOON RENTAL BOAT

30a Pontoon Rental offers a variety of fun toys and/or add ons.  

​

FLOATING PADS- Everyone's favorite is our 18 X 6 floating pad.  The floating pad is big enough for your entire party to relax and play.  Kids love to run around on the pad and play king of the mountain.   We strongly recommend this add on.  

​

YOLO BOARDS- These super fun paddle boards allow guests to paddle around Crab Island and test their balancing skills.  It's fun to be on the top of the water looking down at the crystal clear blue water.

​

KARAOKE MACHINES- Yes, we offer 100 watt Karaoke machines.  Nothing quite like having your own concert at Crab Island.   You'll either entertain your neighbors, or drive them away. :)   Either way, it's a fun way to enjoy your time on the Pontoon Rentals. 

​

TUBING- 30a Pontoon Rental offers tubing on our pontoon rental boats.  It's a fabulous 2 person tube.  However, it's only available on our single decker tritoons.

​

UNDERWATER CAMERAS- 30a Pontoon Rental offers a GOPRO style underwater camera.   A great way to capture fun memories.  

​

COOLERS- A 80-100 quart cooler is a must.   Great for keeping your food and drinks cold, but also keeping some items dry during your pontoon rental experience.

9. WHAT IS THERE TO DO IN THE DESTIN HARBOR?

The Destin Harbor is an incredible tourist that offers great food, clothing stores, a climbing wall, fishing charters, yacht charters, parasailing, dolphin cruises, etc.   It's about a 500 yard strip of land on the water with a dock large enough for the above activities.

10. HOW FAR IS IT BY PONTOON RENTAL BOAT TO THE DESTIN HARBOR?

If you had to drive to the Destin Harbor by car from anywhere on 30a (Rosemary Beach, Seaside, Grayton Beach, etc)  it would take approximately 1-1.5 hours plus 20 minutes to park, 20 minutes to walk down to the dock 20 minutes to get trained, and 20 minutes to get out on the water.   With 30a Pontoon rental you can be at our dock in 10-20 minutes from anywhere on the 30a area and be at the Destin Harbor or Harbor Walk Village by pontoon rental in 45-50 minutes by pontoon rental boat.
